About the workshop:
What is essential learning in the FSL program of studies? What should my students be able to do in French? How do I ensure that I am using balanced assessment in my FSL classes? What strategies and tools are available to me? How do I involve my students in the assessment for and of their learning of French?
During this workshop you will:
- Discuss with your peers the essential learning in the FSL program of studies
- Explore balanced assessment and how it applies to learning a French as a second language
- Discover strategies and tools that will help you and your students become more proficient assessors of French language learning

About the presenter:
Leslie Waite is currently a member of the Curriculum and Instruction Support Team (CaIS) with Rocky View School Division. A “Jack of all trades”, she works primarily with teachers in the French Immersion and FSL programs. Leslie is also one of six Assessment Advisors with the Alberta Assessment Consortium.
