Supporting Child Compliance: Gaining an understanding that compliance isn't incidental

This learning piece is set within a developmental understanding of supporting students to be purposeful through structuring whole classroom supports to be responsive to individual need.  Regulation, motivation, communication and executive functioning are discussed within this foundational training.

Tier 1: Classroom Management Checklist:

The goal of RtI Behavior at the Tier 1 is the prevention of problem behavior and promotion of positive behavior by establishing processes that should facilitate success for ~80% of the student body. An effective Tier 1 system should reduce the number of students who need more expensive and time consuming resources at Tiers 2 and 3. So, if more than 80% of students respond to Tier 1 supports, the school has maximized their resources and is able to meet the needs of more students more effectively.  This starts at the classroom level.

The Tier 1 Classroom Management Checklist looks at 8 key areas that classroom teachers for K-12 can purposefully respond to in order to build strong classrooms.  Participants will have access to 4 tools to support their development of this area.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education.
