This session will explore the components of the F&P Benchmark Assessment System. Participants will be provided with opportunities to practice administering, coding and scoring reading assessments. Analysis of the data and implications for how these assessments inform instruction will be discussed.

In the second part of the day, participants will learn about the lesson structure of Leveled Literacy Intervention (primary systems). LLI is a small-group, supplementary program designed to support the lowest achieving students. This session will provide modelling of explicit and effective strategies for reading, writing about reading, and phonics/word study utilizing the LLI materials.

If possible, participants are asked to bring their LLI program/system guide and a copy of the prompting guide to the session.

This learning opportunity is being offered through curriculum implementation funding from Alberta Education
