This session will provide teachers and administrators with an overview of the Mathematics 30-1 and Mathematics 30-2 Diploma Examination Programs. Provincial Assessment Sector Staff will provide information about the upcoming diploma exams that will contain written-response questions, field testing and marking processes, assessment standards, and opportunities for involvement. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify their understanding of the diploma examination program.
This learning opportunity is being offered through a grant from Alberta Education.
Tony Cabay is the Mathematics 30-2 Examiner in Diploma Programs with the Provincial Assessment Sector of Alberta Education. Prior to his secondment at Alberta Education, Tony taught Senior High Math in the Wolf Creek School Division at both Ponoka Secondary Campus and École Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School.
Susan Gale is the Mathematics 30-1 Examiner in Diploma Programs with the Provincial Assessment Sector of Alberta Education. Susan has taught Senior High Math with Parkland and Lac St. Anne School Divisions for over 20 years. As the Math 30-1 Examiner, Susan works with teachers from across the province on developing provincial assessments. In a previous secondment, she also had the opportunity to work with teachers, students, and the AAC on enhancing classroom assessment practices.
