About the Session

If you’ve ever said, “It just is….It just does…..You just have to remember!when trying to help your child read or spell a word, then this workshop is for you! Phonics can be tricky for kids (and for parents!), but not if they know the “secrets” to cracking the code! In this workshop designed specifically for parents, you will learn the secrets about WHY letters make the many different sounds that they do, and how to share them with your child in a way they can easily understand. For example, did you know that the letters /t/ and /h/ don’t get along, and that whenever they sit together in words, they always stick out their tongues and say,“thhhhhhh!”  By providing logical explanations for letter sound behavior, kids can easily predict their most and next-most likely sounds, so as to read words, rather than having to memorize them. Boost your child’s ability to read, write and spell independently with brain based teaching tools that are sure to become the most relied upon pieces of your ‘at-home’ teaching-repertoire!
