Target Audience: A workshop geared to K-6 teachers who are new to implementing a guided reading component into their classroom.
In this workshop, teachers will explore three components of guided reading lessons: pre-reading, during reading and after reading. Teachers will also be introduced to practical ideas within these components for activities that can be implemented immediately into their classroom. There will be also interactive components within the workshop.
has been teaching with the Calgary Board of Education for over 12 years within a K-6 setting. She has experience working with environments with a high population of English Language Learners, as well as environments with a range of different learning needs. She has a passion for mentoring new teachers and the area of literacy. She as presented with the Calgary Regional Consortium in the past and is thrilled to continue to provide professional development to others.
